PillTime, the innovative digital pharmacy service, has announced its intention to expand its operations by establishing a state-of-the-art pouching hub. This strategic move aims to enhance medication adherence and streamline dispensing processes for patients across the UK.
The announcement coincides with PillTime's participation in the prestigious Chemist+Druggist (C+D) Awards 2024, where the company was nominated for its outstanding contributions to the pharmacy sector. The awards ceremony, held on 19 September 2024 at The Brewery in London, celebrated excellence in pharmacy practice and innovation.
At the event, Sophie Bartlett, PillTime’s Commercial Director, had the honour of presenting the 'GP or PCN Pharmacist of the Year' award to Nazir Hussain, a specialist respiratory pharmacist from Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust. Nazir was recognised for his pioneering work in establishing a 'one-stop' respiratory clinic that supports GP practices across the region. His clinic addresses health inequalities with a patient-centred approach, providing timely diagnosis and care, and has become a model for regional adoption and national sharing.
Sophie Bartlett commented on the award: “It was an absolute privilege to present the GP or PCN Pharmacist of the Year award to Nazir Hussain. His innovative approach to respiratory care is a true trailblazer in the sector, and his work demonstrates the impact that committed pharmacists can have on patient outcomes.”
PillTime's proposed pouching hub will utilise advanced technology to prepare and package medications in convenient, easy-to-use pouches, improving medication adherence and patient satisfaction. This initiative aligns with PillTime's mission to make medication management simple and accessible for all patients.
As PillTime moves forward with this expansion, the company remains dedicated to its core values of innovation, patient-centred care, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to improve health outcomes across the UK.
